Spring has sprung
Thank you to everyone for your feedback to the usability of the store, over the coming months we’ll try to incorporate as many of your ideas and feedback as possible.
Springtime heralds the start of fundraising events up and down the country and we’re lucky to have so many extraordinary supporters willing to give up their own time to raise funds for breast cancer research. It really is a pleasure to work with such fantastic people.
March saw the launch of the Vitality series of runs with the ever popular Reading Half Marathon, our team of 40 runners all managed to get round safely and have achieved some real personal goals – from personal best times to managing to complete their first half marathon. Their energy levels were matched by our terrific team of volunteers each of whom gave up their own time to make sure this event could run as smoothly as possible. Without volunteers, events like Reading just would not be possible, thank you, you really are inspirational.
Of course not everyone wants to run, some prefer to take things at their own pace, Kirsty, owner of Curvature Boutique in Leigh on Sea in Essex did just that. Kirsty organised her own event, she trekked to the summit of Snowden – each wearing stockings and a corset!Friends, family and suppliers supported her fundraising helping her to smash her £1000 target.
Over the coming months, we’ll post more information about our exciting new research projects beginning at the University of Oxford. This research, targeting new treatments is designed to enable earlier detection of secondary spread breast cancer has been made possible by people just like our Reading runners and Kirsty.
To them, and everyone else fundraising this Spring, keep up the good work!
